Friendlier post about New Moon!

Just a picture I took this morning of New Moon advertising in the metro here in Brussels.

And yes, I realise I'm obsessed but it's all in good fun...mostly ;)

I'm sooo mad

I just found out that the release date for New Moon is pushed by a day. of course, it's not a big deal you'll say but yes it is!

I took the day of on the 18th, almong with 3 colleagues to be able to go see it. We did in may!!! And now, there's no garantee that we'll be able to switch dates.

And all because they're afraid of pirates? Because, we get to see the movie 2 days before the others (namely the US), they're too afraid of people filming the movie and broadcasting it on the net. Well here's a shocker for them : it'll happen anyway!

I'm pissed off that because a very small minority of people are dishonnest, that the rest have to suffer the consequences!

I know I'm overreacting and that it's no big deal, I'll get to see it anyway but it's the principle that's unfair! Also, movies come out on wednesdays in Belgium and now, for this, they're making an exception? It just shows that it's all about money and that they have NO RESPECT for the fans are awaiting this movie.

So....yeah...that was my rant du jour ;)

Amsterdam

I got back from my 3 days in Amsterdam with my mom. We had a really good time even though the weather was quite bad.

We took the thalys and man that journey was very long (longer than it is to go to London). And it was raining, but not a just a drizzle, oh no, it was pouring! Luckily, it was better the second day. Read more... )

Halloween at the library

I just got back from the library where we had our Halloween evening (one day early because we're close tomorrow). Between the kids and the adults, we had about 175 people. It was way more than we expected.

The rest is behind the cut because it's picture heavy )

I'm a bad bad blogger!!!

I haven't blogged in a really long time! Probably because there's nothing big going on in my life for the moment.

I changed my hair color and cut my hair. i'm now a redhead again. I really like that color for my hair.

It's my last week before a very awaited one week vacation and my 3 days in Amsterdam with mom. We're both pretty excited. We already purchased tickets for the Anne Frank house and the Rijksmuseum. Other than that, we'll see once we're there...

In other news, we're getting ready for Halloween at the library. We'll have a special story time for kids with candies and pumpkin soup but what's really exciting is that we're doing something for adults too : a kind of murder party mixed with reading from horror books! We're already full for it and from what we can hear, people are pretty excited about it! Also, I made the poster myself and I'm pretty darned proud of it ^_^ See for yourselves :

I'll make lots of pictures and post them here on saturday. promise!

Oh and I bought a nice headband with a squeleton on it ( My colleagues already rolled their eyes when I told them about it) I can't help it if I'm the only one who grew up with Halloween (at the SHAPE) and if I'm really excited at the idea of dressing up! Most of my colleagues won't even hear of it! I'm just thinking they're afraid of being laughed at! I don't care! I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and we're doing a pumpkin carving demonstration since no one really knows how to do it!

(no subject)

I received my Halloween costume last week (the one I bought on ebay). I love it! It fits perfectlly and hides the "problem zone" or more commonly said, my stomach. The best thing is that I don't look 8 months pregnant in it :D

Now I am ready for the Halloween night at the library. We're doing stories for kids and a game for adult. It's kind of a living cluedo with readings from horror books in between "scenes". It sounds promising, we'll have to see the result!

I also made better pictures of my beautiful coat (with the hood up)

behind the cut... )

I also bought (finally!!!) a shoe rack for my (quite extensive) shoe collection. It's great! It can fit about 40 pairs and it only cost me 15 €! I think this is my "buy of the year". Who would have thought that for that price, I would find such a big one.

So here are some before and after pictures. I think you'll agree that it's a great improvement ^_^

In other news, I have a cold and my voice is gone! Very useful when you work in front of people !

Less than two months before New Moon, I'm getting pretty excited here!

Another buy!

I've seen a beautiful coat in a clothes catalogue called La Redoute? The problem is that it was really really expensive! It cost 200 € so I had to wait until I have a good discount?. i finally received 50 € off so I ordered it.

The coat is purple (they also sell it in black but it's the kind of coat that needs to be seen). What really sold it to me is that the hood is very large, part of the collar.

Anyway, saturday, i go get my package before going to work and this was clearly a mistake because because they gave me a big box!!!! That O I had to log about with me on the metro! I open it and there is my coat! I try it on with a little apprehension because I really really hope it fits me and it does! Wouhou!!!!

So, here it is, my brand new Marianne James winter coat

Also, I'm a little peaved at La redoute, when you want to buy this online, it cost 219 € but in the paper catalogue, it's 199€. What the frack?

free to be scary, supernatural

The wait is finally over

Supernatural is back!!!!!

I finished watching it about an hour ago and now that I've digested it, I can comment on it.

It's behind the cut because it will contain MAJOR spoilers

my thoughts (with spoilers) )

First ebay buy!

I know I'm years behind on this but I just made my very first ebay buy!
I needed a Halloween costume for the library (which means not too sexy ^_^) But finding one in my size her in Belgium is proving difficult.
The costumes I wore the last two years were both one size which means my stomach was way too visible and they were knee length instead of long! Also, I really felt selfconscious in them!
All this to say I wantyed to buy one that fit me and I found a really cute one on the american ebay.

Now I just need to find some funny tights (like with orange/black stripes or even better, with spider webs on them!)

Tell me what you think of the dress

robbie

Good day today!

I just listened to Robbie's new single "Bodies" and I really liked it! I can't wait for next month for the official release. I'm now very curious to hear the album!

I think Robbie looks great on the cover. Let's hope he tours with this and that he comes to Belgium!

Other great news today : the opening of teh first New lok in Brussels! Very bad for my finances ^_^ Unfortunatly, I can't go today because I work 'till 7 pm but I'll go tomorrow after work (at about 12:30) But I'm being very reasonable and I have a set budget!

And finally, it's now less than a week for the season premiere of Supernatural. so to celebrate it; here's the season 4 gag reel. I think it's excellent. I watched it at work and I think they thought I was completly mad!
I specially love the shout out to the crew, I really think they deserve it.

I feel insulted

PETA has a new campaign to persuade people to go vegetarian. They put a billboard up in Jacksonville.

Now I don't know about you but I feel it's completly disrespectful and even insulting! What do you think?

And this is what they have to say :

From PETA's press release on the billboard:

billboard here )

A new PETA billboard campaign that was just launched in Jacksonville reminds people who are struggling to lose weight -- and who want to have enough energy to chase a beach ball -- that going vegetarian can be an effective way to shed those extra pounds that keep them from looking good in a bikini. The ad shows a woman whose "blubber" is spilling over the sides of her swimsuit bottom...

Anyone wishing to achieve a hot "beach bod" is reminded that studies show that vegetarians are, on average, about 10 to 20 pounds lighter than meat-eaters...

"Trying to hide your thunder thighs and balloon belly is no day at the beach," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman.

A little more than 3 weeks before the season premiere and the first teaser films are starting to emerge!

And OMG it looks like it's gonna be a great season. I can't wait but it's almost over.

One thing's sure, I won't be available for ANYONE that evening ;)

A visit to the osteopath

I've been suffering from back pain for a few years now and all my doctor tells me is that it's because of my weight and my breasts. And his solution is : "you should get a breast reduction"! But I don't want to do that! These babies are the one part of my body I don't hate; I like them, they're my best assets ^_^

Anyway, since I refuse to get surgery, one of my colleagues suggested I should go see an osteopath.
At first I wasn't sure but after having stayed awake all night again because of my back (and I had to take a huge dose of Dafalgan to finally sleep a little) and after a trip to my mom's where I depleted her pain medication (she had it because her friend drove over her foot! We're prone to accidents in this family! This was only 2 weeks after my fall down the library stairs).
OK; all this to say I finally made an appointment and yesterday was the day.

First, hes asks all kind of questions : where does it hurt? Since when? Any accident? Surgery? and so on.
Then starts the weird stuff : I lay down on my back and then he puts his arm between my legs with his hand resting at the top of my butt and stays there for a while, just sometimes moving his fingers!!! Then he puts his hands on other parts of the body (back, shoulders, head)
After that, he pulls my right leg a little, wiggle my hips with my knees bent and then makes me stand and moves my hips very gently.

And that's it! He tells me that the whole right side of my body was higher than the other side and that it's to protect my liver (what????)

Anyway, he tells me to not get butchered because my pain has nothing to do with my weight (which I knew all along. Thank you very much!!!!!!!!). I should be OK and if not come back next month but then it's good.

After I got home, I slept the whole day away. I have no idea what he did but I feel better already!

Bored

Ok, so I'm bored! I decided that instead of reading yet another romance, I'd play with my hair and make up! (and yes, I'm aware that it would be better to do my dishes and clean my house but I don't wanna do that ^_^)

So, I got out my curling iron and all my makeup, did a little internet research and here it is : a little pinup style make up. Now, I could have done it better if I had better equipment (like an eyliner brush and liquid eyliner but since it's sunday night and I'm broke, I'll make do with what I have!). I still have to work on the eyliner part, I want it more pronounced without looking like Amy Winehouse ! And I didn't put on concealer since it's 8 pm!
Also, I didn't wash my hair so it's not as nice as it could have been! Oh and I have to "trim" those eyebrows but I don't really have enough confidence to do it myself and we're back to I'm broke so....yeah....

And is it me or does my nose look humongous in these?

   Wanna see? )
